roofrepairadl.com.au ("the site") is operated by Roof Repair ADL to connect Adelaide residents, body corporates and businesses with a licensed local roofing business for roof repairs, restoration, re-roofing, replacement and gutter work. The site provides information and takes enquiries; the roofing work itself is carried out and invoiced by the licensed roofing business servicing the site ("the roofer"). The roofer's business name, ABN and licence number are published on the site once confirmed.
Use of the site
You may use the site for lawful purposes only. Content is provided as general information about roofing in Adelaide and is not a substitute for advice about your specific property. Do not rely on it to carry out roofing work yourself; working at heights is dangerous, and in South Australia roofing and roof plumbing work must be carried out by appropriately licensed contractors.
Enquiries and quotes
- Sending the quote form or calling does not create a contract. A contract for roofing work is formed when you accept the roofer's written quote.
- Any inspection fee, if one applies, is stated before an inspection is arranged. You may decline at that point at no cost.
- The price for the work is given in writing before work begins. If further work is found to be necessary, a revised price is given before that work starts.
- Estimated arrival times are given in good faith and depend on weather, traffic and other jobs.
Licensing
Building work in South Australia, including roofing, is regulated by Consumer and Business Services (CBS). A roofing contractor must hold a Building Work Contractors Licence, and roof plumbing work (metal roof sheeting, gutters, downpipes and flashings) must be carried out by a person licensed under the Plumbers, Gas Fitters and Electricians Act 1995. You are entitled to ask for the licence number of the contractor attending and to verify it on the CBS public register. Removal of asbestos cement roofing must be carried out by a licensed asbestos removalist.
Payment
Payment terms and methods are confirmed by the roofer when the quote is accepted. Invoices are issued by the roofing business that carries out the work. Where the law requires a written building work contract, the roofer will provide one before work starts.
Australian Consumer Law
Services supplied to consumers in Australia come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot be excluded, including that services will be provided with due care and skill and be fit for purpose. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Where a guarantee applies and the failure is not major, the remedy is to have the service redone or the cost of doing so refunded.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Roof Repair ADL is not liable for loss arising from your use of the information on this site or from delays in responding to enquiries. Responsibility for roofing work performed at your property rests with the licensed roofing business that performs it, subject to the Australian Consumer Law.
Intellectual property
Text, images and design on this site belong to Roof Repair ADL or its licensors. You may not copy or republish them without permission, other than for personal reference.
Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
